Last Hubble Photo 2
This piece was inspired by the last photo taken by the Hubble telescope before it stopped transmitting for repairs. (It has since been repaired.) I used high temperature firing and pressing under pressure to achieved the ethereal look of space, and dichroic glass to provide the sparkle of stars. It is especially appropriate to use dichroic glass, which was developed by NASA to protect against dangerous space radiation -- and then it was embraced by artists! The piece is approximately 11" by 11", and ready to hang.
