Because every piece is different, shipping requirements can vary. Jewelry, smaller glass pieces, and larger framed or substantial artwork may require different packaging and shipping arrangements. [add language for domestic only]

A note about handmade glass
Glass is beautiful, but it also needs to be treated with care. Merrilee packages each piece with its individual materials, shape, size, and fragility in mind so that it can make the journey from her studio to your home safely.local pickup
If you're local to Washington, DC, you may be able to arrange pickup from the Joy of Glass studio.
After completing your purchase, submit a local pickup request through the contact form, and Merrilee will follow up with instructions and a pickup time.
Please wait for confirmation before coming to the studio. The studio is also where Merrilee creates her artwork and hosts workshops, so pickup should be arranged in advance.returns & exchanges

Because Joy of Glass artwork is individually handcrafted and each piece is one of a kind, all artwork sales are final. Please take a moment to review the photographs, dimensions, materials, and description of a piece before purchasing. If you have questions about an artwork's size, color, construction, or appearance, we're happy to help before you place your order.

If something about your jewelry purchase isn't quite right, however, please contact us. Merrilee is happy to review the situation and determine whether there is a way she can help.

We take great care to package every piece for its journey, but occasionally damage can happen during shipping.
If your order arrives damaged, please contact us as soon as possible after delivery and keep the original packaging and all shipping materials. Please also include photographs of:
The damaged artwork or jewelry
The outside of the shipping package
Any visible damage to the interior packaging
The shipping label
This information helps us document the damage and determine the best way to resolve the situation. Please do not discard the damaged piece or packaging until you've heard from us.
what about faulty or defective pieces?
Every Joy of Glass piece is inspected before it leaves the studio. If you believe your piece has a workmanship issue, please contact us and describe the problem.
Because every piece is individually handcrafted, Merrilee will review the situation personally and determine the appropriate next step.
the uniqueness of one-of-a-kind artwork
When you purchase a Joy of Glass artwork, you're purchasing the actual piece shown on the product page, and not a mass-produced creation or likeness of it.
Each piece is individually crafted and created by Merrilee, and the variations that may occur through the glass-fusing process are part of what makes the work unique.
Color may also appear somewhat different depending on lighting, photography, and your screen. Product photographs, dimensions, materials, and descriptions are provided to help you understand the piece before purchasing.
